Our Story

We, Tom and Kristi German, and our son Daniel, currently manage the family farm near Laporte City, Iowa. Our daughters, Morgan and Grace were also an integral part of the farm’s and business' daily operations during their growing-up years. They are now married, living nearby in Iowa and helping with various aspects of the family farm and business. We use proven and time-tested regenerative and sustainable farming methods to produce the healthiest, tastiest food for our customers. Our dedication to traditional practices ensures that our products are both nutritious and flavorful.

Our journey to organic production began in 1999. Six years earlier, in 1993, we had already started implementing a pasture-based system on our farm. These steps were part of our long-term commitment to regenerative, sustainable, and ethical farming practices, aimed at improving the health of our livestock and the quality of our products.

In the early 1990s, Tom and Kristi returned to the family farm after graduating from college and gaining experience in the business world. Motivated to raise healthy livestock and children, we envisioned creating a unique, pasture-based farm. Our efforts over the years have transformed this vision into a reality, reflecting our passion for regenerative, sustainable, organic agriculture and our dedication to our family's legacy.

Our Practices

We promise to provide your family with high-quality grass-fed meat products from our family’s organically managed farm. We proudly raise pastured cattle, lamb, organic fed pork, and organic fed hens, on our family farm in Iowa.

We feed our beef cattle and sheep a 100% grass-fed diet. We don't supplement them with any grain feed or grain by-products, oil seed or oil seed by-products. We also acquire qualified cattle and sheep from other similarly managed farms.

We feed our farmstead hens and pork, with organic feeds, and we don't feed soy or soy by-products. We strive to provide the highest quality artisan products to you and your family, as we do for our own.
